OS Sequoia: How To Share Internet From Starlink ethernet

So I have a bit of a weird question. I'm on the road, and because of EMF sensitivity and general paranoia I prefer to get my starlink internet via ethernet--I've turned off the wifi part of it. And it works fine for the device I plug the USB-C/Ethernet adapter into--in this case my macbook.

However there are a few times when I'd like to be able to turn on wifi briefly. For instance to use the starlink app to position the dish better, or when I want to download some books on kindle. Because of how starlink works I can't just boot up the starlink wifi for 20 minutes and then turn it off again--instead, so far as I can tell, they force you to do a full manual reset of the router, which would be a pain in the ass. I'd much prefer it if I could use my macbook to share internet via wifi.

I've been trying to get the "share internet" function to work but although I have set up the network on the macbook end and turned on internet sharing via wifi on my macbook, no wifi network appears available to my phone or kindle. I wonder if maybe the problem is that I was just picking the wrong source of internet? There are seven options available for the source. If it helps, they are:

1) Wifi (since I'm trying to share via wifi and am not getting internet from wifi, obviously that's not the one I want.
2) A random alphanumeric (what is that about?)
3) Thunderbolt Bridge
4) Ethernet Adapter (En3)
5) Ethernet Adapter (En4)
6) USB 10/100/1000 LAN
7) My VPN

Is this the problem? Do I need to choose one of these and... I'm not sure, wait for five minutes for it work? Or is the problem something else?

Any thoughts are welcome. It would be nice if I could share internet.

Hi,

Just to answer one of your questions,
A random alphanumeric (what is that about?)

A random alphanumeric Generator is a tool that generates random strings that contain a combination of letters, uppercase and lowercase as well and digits 0-9, plus specials like (*) It can be used for many things such as password Generation, token generation data masking, etc

Hey @oldscribe thanks for responding.

I guess my question was more: Why is one of the "share internet" functions a (seemingly) random alphanumeric? Does it point to some kind of hardware or software I'm running? Is it just a service that Macs provide, giving you the option to share internet via a... port?...with a random name?
