OS 10.6.8

I am running an older machine OS 10.6.8. I can no longer snyc my iphone. It tells me to download the latest itune which I don't seem to be able to do. Someone told me that my OS is too old. True?

!0.6.8 does support the latest version of iTunes which is 11.1.3. You can download it from here:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Thanks. Got the down load and installed. Tried to snyc my iphone and got the following:The iPhone “Frank Sparrow’s iPhone” cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 11.1 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes.

Try restarting your Mac, then open iTunes and make sure it is updated. Then try the iPhone again.

In the course of doing this I discovered 2 itune applications on my machine. One updated one not. Got rid of 1 and phone now synced.
