I have a 2014 MBA which has been working well for years. It only gets very light use but it was limited by a 256gb SSD. I looked at replacing to with a 1tb SSD but the cost was £80 to £100 for a 1tb NVMe PCIe SSD. I did have couple of 1tb NVMe m.2 hanging around, but these are not a like for like swap. I found an adapter on Amazon for £9.28, which I ordered. I cloned the MBA drive to the NVMe drive and and when the adapter arrived today it was a quick 5 minute job to swap them over. booted up and all is working ok at a much better price.
Just a shame that it is not possible to do a RAM upgrade on this MBA.
