No permission

Purchased a thumb drive for my MAC Pro. Saved a few files last week. Tried saving a new file yesterday and it says I don't have permission. I didn't setup anything when I saved the other files. How do I fix this, it's a waste of a 1gig drive to only save 3 small files.

Control click the thumbdrive icon select Get Info & look for a little box right down the very bottom of the window that says "Ignore ownership on this Volume". Select that and see how you go.

I see this issue periodically & always find a way around it rather than trying to figure out why. Usually logging out/in, ejecting/mounting the drive or even just saving to the Desktop then drag/drop the file onto the thumb drive icon.
