hey guys,

Mr. newbie here! I just bought a Macbook of someone because I am starting to do some voice over work and I finally came to realize that Mac is better for this type of work than a PC.
The person I bought it from did not set it to original factory settings and now I have a macbook pro that has a lot of his things in it. He also did not have the OS disk so I don't know how to restore the system. Does this mean that I would have to go to apple and bye a new OS and reload it again?
I appreciate your help guys and look forward to learning a lot from you guys!

Cheers,

Carlos A.

No, all you need to do is make a new User Account for you, I recommend making it a standard account, then also make a nice new Admin Account.
Then log into the Admin Account and delete the old User Accounts.
Log back into the new Standard Account and you're good to go.

Apple Menu > System Preferences > Accounts.
