need help w/ bluetooth

I am trying to transfer info. from my imac (10.5.8) to my macbook (10.6.8) via bluetooth and cannot transfer anything. My macbook only wants to access the itunes program in the imac. Is it possible to transfer other items with these older versions of mac OS?

Possibly a easier way is Migration assistant, this allows you to connect your iMac and Macbook together via a Firewire cable and automatically transfer your important files.
