I posted this earlier, but it seems like this is the better place to put it.
Today, when I turned on my iMac (OS10.12.6), my screen was different; the dock had moved from the side to the bottom. My desktop was bare, all my safari links were gone, all my mail account data seems to be gone, and all my mailboxes have vanished.
I do have a backup disk, with time machine running. For some reason, it did not save anything yesterday, but there is a backup from 9/29.
If I restore that, will it all that come back?
