Can you upload a photo os the issue.

Normally when there are vertical stripes on an iMac display, it is a hardware issue that needs repaired.

Yes, that is either an LCD panel or graphics card issue that will need servicing/repair. To test for which, if you attach an external display, is the line present on it as well?
