Modem for imac Sierra 10.12.6?

I need to use dial-up again. I have a late 2015 imac and a 2006 macbook (macbook is no longer supported, can't get on line anymore due to upgrades of browsers) withits modem.
My Portland OR area broadband has doubled in cost. My questions are: is there is modem for my new imac or is it possible that
my old macbook modem can work with the new imac. I was given apple care and my one talk with them I was told there
are no modems for newer imacs. Info and idea will be appeciated.

Even though it talks about doing that with a MacBook, the same should apply to your iMac.
