Missing lower case M since last Safari update

Has anyone experienced a Missing lower case M? My probleM started with the last Major update. The letter works in all other programs, but in Safari I have to rely on spell check to correct the Missing letter. Thanks

Hello and welcome.

That is an issue I have never come across. Strange that it is only Safari.

We will have to do some digging to figure out where to start. In the meantime, you could try deleting the com.apple.Safari.plist located here:

1. Quit Safari
2. In Finder, hold the Option key and click Go > Library in the menu bar
3. Open the Preferences folder
4. Delete the file com.apple.Safari.plist

See if that helps, and we will get back to you.

Sorry we didn't get back to you sooner. I see that you found the plist, deleted it, and that did't solve the issue.

-Which exact version of OS X?
-Which model Mac?
-If it is a MacBook/MacBook Pro/Macbook Air, do you have an external USB keyboard you can try?

The next thing to look at would probably be the Keyboard preferences:
 > System Preferences... > Keyboard

-Is there anything in Shortcuts > App Shortcuts listed for Safari?
-Is there anything under Text to replace the lowercase m with a space?

App shortcut shows only Show Help Menu and the Text is eMpty. Thanks
