missing Emails

I joined some Google group and started getting constant emails. So I deleted my account. Apparently my Gmail was also deleted. So I reinstated my Gmail. I had all kinds of problems with my account after it was supposedly reinstated. One of the main problems I had was that I couldn't send any emails. After finally getting it fixed, almost all of the emails in my inbox and smart folder were deleted. I lost a lot of important emails with warranties, receipts, etc. Does anyone know what happened and if I can recover my lost emails? Did they get moved (I can't find them)? Appreciated any ideas. Thank you.

Hello and welcome.

Did you unsubscribe from the Google Group or delete your Google account? If you deleted your Google account, the emails will be deleted as well, unless you happen to have created mailboxes in Apple Mail or another email app on your Mac and had moved the emails to be stored locally.

If you don't have them on your Mac email app, or a Time Machine or other backup, then you would have to contact Google Customer Support to see if they can do anything.

I inadvertently deleted my account. My daughter invited me to join some Google group or something and I did. Then I started received a barrage of emails which really ticked me off. So I guess I deleted my account. It was a bit confusing. I had to reinstate my gmail and that is when I started having problems. After I got it working, my emails were gone. I have a Time Machine, but I don't know if emails are automatically saved. I will try and contact Google customer support as you suggested. Thank you for your time. I appreciate your reply. Guess what? I looked in my time machine before posting this question and couldn't find my emails. I checked again after your advice and found my emails and successfully restored them.
