Migration question for macbook to macbook

I'm trying to migrate from old macbookpro to new one. The process asks for the password for my old computer, then when I put it in it tells me I have the wrong password!

It is of course the right one. Strange, huh.

Any ideas?

On the old computer logout and then back in with the same password.
