microphone replys on pronunciation with Websters Dictionary app

I have the Websters Dictionary app on my iPhone 6. At times when I select the speaker icon for the pronunciation of a particular word sometimes, it doesn't work. It's quite erratic in its function.

Hello,

-Which version of iOS?
-Double-check the settings in Settings > Dictionary and see if both Microphone and Speech Recognition are checked.
-Make sure to check the mic are on the iPhone isn't blocked with foreign material.
