After a giant crash, I find myself with NOTHING on my computer. I have gotten to a place that lets me Partition and Format. I used just one partition, but each time it says it is installing OSX it takes about 20-45 minutes and ends saying FAILED, try again. I feel that if I could boot from my Install Disk I would be able to install OSX from it, but I can't get the computer to boot from the install disk. I have gotten to the Disk utility eventually, but even when I ask it to boot from the Install disk it doesn't. I an ready to give up. I've been working on this for 3 days. HELP!!!

You say that you got onto the install disk and disk utility? Tell it to verify disk then 'repair disk'

Either the Disk is Damaged, The Drive is Damaged, Or its the Wrong DVD.
We find that the Install Disks do get damaged.
Its hard to test if the Drive is having problems.
The DVD must be either the one that came with that model or a full Retail version.
