Only started to happen this week to my OS X (tower) 10.6.8 bought new 2008.
When I leave my Mac for a short time (say to make a cup of tea), when I get back my screen is see-through magenta, with small white 'interferance' marks across the screen.
The only way I can get rid of it is to restart.
I've been told my machine is on it's 'last legs'!
Is this true? Thanks.
