My MacBook’s coloured screen is really vivid. I’ve tried resetting nvram, pram and also updated the iOS. The black and white colours are ok. Only when I put a video on or open photos, the distortion in colours show. There are no blobs when the screen is white or black. I can scroll on Google without any apparent issues on the screen. I’ve also noticed a hologram like thing from other windows when I full screen the videos. This is a work laptop so I’m really worried if I’ve messed the hardware somehow. Also ive run a diagnostic test and it came back clear - don’t know if I should believe it or not when the screen colours are clearly wrong. I’ve tried adjusting colour settings for it in the display settings. I would appreciate any leads

It sounds like you may have either a bad profile set for your display, or you have the contrast turned up.

The Color Profiles are in your System Setting (Preferences on older versions of macOS) -> Displays.
The Contrast is in System Setting (Preferences on older versions of macOS) Accessibility -> Displays.

If you need more help, please let us know what version of macOS you are using.

If you tell us your Mac Book model I can tell you what the default colour setting should be.
