macbook pro help please. Video pause every 3 secs/cursor and typing delays

I have a late 2011 macbook pro core i7 2.2ghz running 10.7.5

I am not able to play ANY video without a delay every 3-4 secs and just scrolling down my dock results in the cursor results in a delayed sticking. Even scrolling through a news page on google has a strange delay. I have run disk warrior, mac utilities, and re-installed the OS and its still happening. I am using about 68% of my memory at the moment so I'm certain thats not the issue. Of course I'm getting slammed with a ton of projects at the moment so I'm having to stop today and get this fixed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tried a Restart?

Sounds like a process taking CPU time, check Activity Monitor.
