Has anyone ever had a clutch cover break on a MacBook pro in regular use?

I have seen them crack, but not fully break.

-Which model MacBook Pro?
-Is it a crack or a full on break?
-Can you upload a photo?

I purchased a mid 2012 MacBook Pro today that in the description and pictures shows a crack in the clutch cover on the left side. Although I could replace it, I don't want to replace it any time soon thus my question regarding longevity.

It actually should be OK, since the hinge is what takes all of the force. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Did the seller state how it cracked?

No he didn't. Although it could be glued to give it rigidity I was just asking if it should be a concern, and C you answered my question well. Thanks.
