Macbook Pro 1.1 - Wireless not working at all?

Hello,

I need help ...
I just bought a used Macbook pro 1.1, reinstalled OSX 10.6.3, but I cannot get the wireless connection to work. I turn ON airport and not a single network is found. I have another laptop that can find at least 10.
What could be the problem?
What could I do too troubleshoot?
