SOLVED MacBook opening previously opened documents?

Hello all

I use a MacBook Pro at the firm which I work for.

Since last week I have noticed that when I 'quit' certain documents (affected applications are Word, Excel and the image viewer from what I can see so far) it will open the last viewed document when I try to open a new document, which is rather annoying.

I am not sure what is causing this and would greatly appreciate any assistance as I am losing time having to close document when I already closed a minute or two before.

Hello and welcome.

It may be as simple as checking:  > System Preferences... > General > Close windows when quitting an app. Make sure that box is checked, and see if you have the same issue.
