My MacBook MA700LL/A Notebook Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz 2GB beeps when I start. I changed the battery and re-seated the memory cards.

What exact Mac OS are you using?

Have you ever done any disk cleanup/maintenance/repairs?

Are you making a backup to an external device?

Did the beeping start after you changed the battery and re-seated the memory cards? (By the way, why did you re-seat the memory cards?).

OS 10.7.5 (Lion)
I changed the battery and reseated the memory cards after the beeps (3) started.

What about disk cleanup/maintenance/repairs? And backups?

I figured out what is wrong. One of the memory bank is bad. I took out that memory 1gb ram and started with the one remaining 1 gb ram and it starts without any beeping.
