Macbook keeps typing random key

My macbook keeps typing the letter 'g.' It does it a few times every minute and its very annoying. The key does not appear to be sticking. And I have tried blowing the board with air.

so if you just open a TextEdit document and leave it every few seconds a "g" appears???

Yes.

And if I am doing something where you can't type, like watching a movie etc, it makes that sound that tells youcan't type. Also If I am in a folder it keeps going to the g's in the folder.


the key isnt stuck, i cleaned it, really, really well.

If it was stuck you would get a row of "g"s,

One last test would be to plug in a USB keyboard, but I think it would still do it because both KBs can send keystrokes.

I'd say they you have a track thats shorting, often caused by so liquid spill, perhaps years ago.

Only option would be to swap the keyboard.

how do you go about swapping a keyboard in a macbook? Its like stuck in there...

take it to your locale Apple Service Centre. It doesn't have to be "Apple" there are large number of smaller Service Centres all around the world.
