Macbook Freezing Problems

mac book 5.1 starts up fine but a slight nudge of the screen causes the screen to slowly go inverted/fade and freeze up.
if you move the screen back it kicks out of its coma sometimes,..an external monitor works fine

..told by the owner that a mac store looked at it and claimed a video module problem
i think it could the video ribbon running from screen to main board

What can you add to that as far as what you think* may be the cause?
