Hello,

My MacBook Pro doesn't boot. It get stuck on grey screen after a spinning wheel.
Info on the MacBook :

Model Identifier : MacBookProo8,3
Processor Name : Intel Core i7
System Version: OS X 10.9.5
Kernel Version : Darwin 13.4.0

I tryed some command found on the net.

Safe boot --> progress bar disappear aprrox at 1/4 -> spinning wheel -> Blue screen
Start Disk utility -> black screen
Reset NVRAM -> restart and black screen

I can boot in Single User mode :
fsck -fy -> The volume appears to be ok and the volume was modified -> fsck -fy -> the volume appears to be OK
mount -uw /
touch /private/var/db/.AppleSetupDone
exit and safe boot again -> progress bar disappear aprrox at 1/4 -> spinning wheel -> Blue screen

I also changed the RAM and tryed with another HDD (SDD).
I can't boot on a USB install stick of high sierra...

Do you have any info on what could be broken ?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english

Hello and welcome.

-From you information, that is a MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2011), correct?
-Did you have any other issue leading up to this issue, i.e. hanging, graphics distortion, etc.?

Sounds like it may be related to the previous Repair Extension Program for Video Issues, that is now expired for the 2011 MBPs unfortunately.
