Macbook Air Storage Mystery

Hi everyone. Forgive me if this sounds like a silly question but I can't seem to account for 20GB of space used up as per the attached screenshot. The "User" file shows a used capacity of 25GB but the total of all the subfolders (apps, desktop, etc...) only add up to 5GB.

What am I not understanding?

Have you backup up to the air, or external?

This would also include iPhone and iPads done through iTunes.
I found that I had accidentally made eight or nine iPhone & iPad backups to a Mac instead of iCloud.

My iPhone is backed up to this Mac.

Hi,

You should find your backup(s) here: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup.

Right click the folder to get info re size.
