MacBook 13 screen goes to black -2 weeks old

just got a new Macbook 13 and the screen has gone to black 2 times since I have had it. When I go into system the brightness button is on dark- but I don't change anything. Anybody had this problem? Is it a battery problem?

I do not know what causes your problem, but I found an article over at Apple that describes a similar problem (black screen), you might want to check that out.

It could be possible that you are catching the key on the keyboard that controls the brightness. I have done this a couple of times on my Mac laptop - one key ups the brightness and the other makes it dark.

On mine it is one of the F keys (F4 or 5 I think), and slightly catching the key with my hand has caused the brightness to go to zero = dark screen.
