Hi, my name is Siobhan I am new to this site, new to computing and I am having compatability issues with my new Macbook Air.
I have recently started college and as I am trying to send in assignments via email I am having a constant stream of problems as it seems my lecturers need files that only a PC can read. One of my lecturers has even said that when I get to uni my problems will most definately not go away.
I am, and will be, writing out assignments that include pictures, graphs, powerpoint presentations and so on. Is there an easy way to solve my problem? Bearing in mind that I am Very new to computing. (By the way, buying a new PC would be a last resort as I really like my new macbook!)
I would really appreciate any help with simple non-techie language, thanks!

Sure there are 2 options, get MicroSoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint they are all available on OSX, yuck...

Get iWork, Pages, Numbers and Keynote and you can Export as those file types... of course you do loose the cool extras that the iWork files give you.

Or you can use TextEdit, and Save As, .doc.
