Mac Pro 2.1 2007 Question PC Monitor and USB Mouse Keyboard Mavericks

I just bought a 2007 Mac Pro 2.1 Desktop on Ebay. Can I connect a PC Monitor and USB Mouse Keyboard?
Also can I put Mavericks OS on it? I would rather not have to buy an Apple Monitor & Mac Keyboard Mouse if I dont have to.
