I downloaded Lion to my desk top several months ago with no problem. I waited to down load to my Macbook Pro until I transferred some files that would not work on Lion. I finally got my files changed over last week, and then tried to download to Lion on the Macbook. When I downloaded It gave me Lion 7.2. Tried to install and it would not let me, and said I had to have 7.0 first. Tried to find a copy of 7.0 on the apple site, but could not find one. Talk to the help desk and the man I talked to really did not understand the problem, and waned to give an appointment to the genius desk at an Apple Store. Some of us do not have an Apple Store around the corner. What do I do next? Any suggestions? Thanks Inmann

There is NO download of OS X 7 Lion, what you have downloaded is the 7.2 UPDATE, you have to have Lion installed to update it, there is now also a 7.3 Update.

To Install Lion you need to go to the App Store and (if you've already purchased it) install it, if not then purchase it. This will download an installer and automatically run it, the installer then makes the Recovery Partition, relaunches onto that, downloads the rest of Lion and installs it.

THEN you run the 7.2 or 7.3 UPDATE and all the other updates that are on both the App store and System Update.

A long and laborious task, which I have just done...
