Hi all,
since I received the news that Microsoft will be closing down Skype, I am looking for a free alternative. I'd prefer a free application for communication with friends to be used from my desktop Mac M1 and NOT an iPhone. Up to now I find Jami very suitable. On trial runs I saw a blinking coloured circle on my monitor, when somebody called me but there was no ringtone. Apple's available ringtones are for the iPhone. I don't know how to use one of them on my desktop Mac to alert me to a call, when I am not sitting in front of the monitor. Assuming I had a suitable ringtone, what file format would it be for OS 15.3.1, where should it be stored and how could a Jami call activate it?
I have found several YouTube videos on how to make a ringtone from any piece of music, but they are all for the iPhone.
Can anybody help? Would greatly appreciate it.
Andy
