I had been having issues with long boot times on my Mac Mini Intel Duo. I backed it all up and decided to do a clean install of SL 10.6.3 from the retail disk.
Erased the hard drive, reformatted as specified (journaled) and it installed fine.
Said it needed to restart to complete and when I did, I get to a blank gray screen, I hear the music associated with the new install but no graphics and it just hangs.
I restarted from the SL CD and thought I should repair disk permissions. I did that, it got to about 1 minute left on the repair and seemed to keep going forever so I had to do a hard shutdown.

I am going to see if I can do a disk repair tonight and a new install again.

Any help would be appreciated.

At a guess I'd say your HD was going down, and now it has gone.

If its less than 3 yrs old take it back to an AppleCare service provider for a drive replacement, you do have AppleCare, right?

If its older than 3 years then you'll need to pop in a new hard drive.
