I purchased a Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 in October 2015. From the beginning I have had problems with mail. I talked to techs at Mac to no avail.
No matter how I configure mail preferences, lots of my mail from my contacts and others go to junk and junk comes in my inbox. Ant suggestions?
Thanks!

Hello and welcome.

-Are you still running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5?
-You are using the Apple Mail app, correct?
-Do you have junk mail filtering enabled or disabled in Mail?
-Who is your email provider?

Yes, OS X 10.5
Do you mean Apple mail icon on my desktop?

Assume you mean OS 10.10.5. Also, when Cory asked about the Apple Mail app, he meant Apple's EMail program entitled Mail, and it should be in your applications folder.

I do not use Apple's Mail program, as I prefer Outlook. But, here is a link to a discussion about Mail issues and OS 10.10.5:

Correct - Apple's email app titled Mail.

-Did you drag the Mail app icon out of the Applications folder and onto your Desktop? If so, it needs to be put back into the Applications folder, or it may not work normally and will not be updated.
-You could try turning off junk mail filtering for now, and see if thins settle down a bit. If so, then we can re-enable it and reset the rules.
