My startup disk is almost always full and I am pretty sure my mail is the culprit. I know it is a setting that I have, but I am not sure how to fix the issue. Everything archives. Even junk mail. I once unchecked the archive setting but then half my emails disappeared.

HELP!

It says I have 341,976 emails...that has to be part of the issue as well.

I don't use Apple's Mail program, preferring Outlook instead. But, are you synchronizing other EMail accounts with Mail? For example, do you synchronize gmail with Mail? Via a google search I just did for "Apple's Mail program using a lot of disk space", that can be an issue. Here are the results of that search:

https://www.google.com/search?q=Apple's+Mail+program+using+a+lot+of+disk+space&oq=Apple's+Mail+program+using+a+lot+of+disk+space&aqs=chrome..69i57.19672j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

And this link (from that search, it's the 4th one on the list) contains useful information:

http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/75474/mail-application-captures-huge-disk-space

Sorry I can't help more specifically, as again I use Outlook, do not synchronize any other of my EMail accounts, and have never had this issue (I use Outlook only with my comcast EMail account).
