Mac Mail - creating new mailbox on gmail

I'm trying to create a "new mailbox" for my gmail account that I use in Mac Mail.
However I can only create a new mailbox with the location being "on my mac".

In other words, I want my mailboxes set up so they sync with gmail.

Does anyone know how I can have the option for new mailboxes to be sync'd with my gmail account?

If I understand you correctly, there are Two ways.

1. connect to http://gmail.com and use the web interface to create a new 'folder' or 'label'. This will appear in the Mac Mail as a Folder.
2. In Mac Mail, if you have set up GMail as an IMAP, and not a POP, it should allow you to right click on any folder in the mailbox list, and create a mailbox.Use the drop down to choose your location as 'Gmail' or whatever you've called it.This is shown in the pics below as "GOOGLE" area.
