Hello. I have the 27 inch MAC that I bought about a year and a half ago. I love it but recently it has been shorting out. First I thought it was my power-strip, then I thought it was the outlet. After replacing both and trying different outlets I have come to the conclusion that it is something with my computer. Has anyone else had this problem?????

It doesn't matter if anyone else is having a power problem. I haven't heard of any.
The important thing is to get your iMac to an Apple Service Centre ASAP, you could do some serious damage to both your Mac and Data by waiting.
You did buy extended AppleCare right???
