Mac Book Pro Or Mac Desktop

Hi Guys,
Trying to decide what to buy Laptop or Desktop.

I will be doing more of designing such as user interfaces ect.

Should I buy a Mac Book pro and connect it to a external display/monitor when I needed or should I go with the Mac Desktop ?

If I connected the Mac Book Pro for a normal windows based pc monitor will I be getting a good display or are their any specific displays for that?

Well I'd say go with the desktop. They are good and I think are better then a laptop. But that's just me. I have been a mac owner since 2007 and now have another iMac my hubby built for mr from three different machines.
