lost master password

Hello everyone...I got a great deal on an old clamshell laptop which actually works! However it was sent to me with OS 10.4.3 already installed. Problem is I can't download anything or update any software because I do not know the master password. I was thinking I have the startup CD's for my Imac G5 which is OS 10.3.9.
Would it be possible to reboot and install the older version from this startup disc so I can set a new master password??? And if so , HOW???

im not sure if the version for your imac G5 is machine specific or not
if not just pop the cd in reboot and hold c
that SHOULD boot it up and allow you to install panther again
