lost it all, please help.

Hi,
I lost my macbook pro to a vile thief a few weeks back and had to fall back on my son's ancient ibook G4, which is running 10.5.8. (the pro was more recent 10.6+) Luckily I had my pro backed up on a xternal HD, but I am having problems migrating apps to the G4. The HD version of timeline obviously does not recognize the G4, so all of my apps are orphaned, can't migrate Itunes,serial nums gone,etc.

Can someone clue me in on how to migrate from a HD to a machine running an OLDER os?
I know some of the apps won't run because they are intel-native, but I should be able to get the older apps to work, right?

I really need to access some of this stuff, any help greatly appreciated.

Have you tried accessing your files (dragging them over to the G4's Desktop) to see if there are any incompatibility issues?

Hard to say with the apps ... exactly which apps? Ones that you've purchased?
