Running MacBook Air [M1, Sonoma 14.5, gmail account]. Had dozens of flagged emails, suddenly a few days ago, most disappeared, leaving only about 30, I cannot located the lost flagged emails, it appears they are gone completely. Have restarted mac, selected many mailboxes flagged and otherwise and rebuilt them, no change. Logged into gmail via browser, cannot find those old flagged emails. What happened? Is there anyway to recover them? Computer is backing up to BackBlaze regularly, but I do not know where, if at all, emails are stored on the Mac, so cannot go back to recover them. Any help appreciated.

Did you clean out your inbox at any point before losing the emails. a flag does not save or move the mail out of your inbox.

If you know what the emails were, you can always log into gmail on the web and look in your All Mail and Archived Mail mailboxes.

By default Gmail doesn’t delete any old mail, just moves them into other folders.
