iWeb and hosting

Hello there,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it's possible to use iWeb to design a website. I didn't realise MobileMe had shut down and I don't really want to start using other programs to make my site - iWeb makes it so easy!

So can I make it and use another company to host it? There's a lot on the web about transferring existing sites to other hosts but nothing about newly created sites.

Hello and welcome. Sorry it took us so long to get back to you.

Yes, you can publish in several ways (depending on iWeb version):

1. MobileMe - now closed, so not possible.
2. FTP - publish directly/remotely to your hosting company's folder via FTP.
3. Folder - publish to a local folder on your Mac, then upload to any hosting company's server.

Check Help menu in iWeb and type in publishing. It will give you the steps to publish via FTP or to a folder.
