iTunes crashes when I attempt to add my music to the library

Hi Mac users

Im trying to add approx 20,000 files to my library. I can see it processing alot of songs then crashes after approx 30 minutes. Do it in smaller chunks, iTunes does a lot of messing around when importing in a file, all it takes is one bad file to fail and then it all goes down.
Theres moving files, checking for Cover Art, Genius, and other stuff as well.

I can confirm that by adding the files in smaller chunks such as letters A-D then E-H... etc worked. Thanks for your suggestion.

I've found working with importing smaller chunks, be they photos, movies or songs is always the way to go.

Now Finder is 64bit things are lot better.

My iMac has a 64 bit processor, 32 bit EFI, 64 bit Kernel boot mode & 32 bit kernel. I'm more than a little confused. Is my Finder 64 bit? I could always find out by importing a gazillion mp3s into iTunes
