I tested the online OCR sites which boast / brag that they are "free"
Not worth spending time on them

I have been using Textify, which is available on the App Store, There are free and paid for versions. I find the free version is OK for the tasks I use it for. The only problem I have encountered so far is that it misses out drop capped letters, which is not a problem in most cases. As always YMMV.

Textify extracts the text only, the original formatting is lost
Useless.
¿Is the paid version preserving the format?

The free version allows me to switch between RAW text (unformatted) or formatted text.
I have only used the free version , so I could not comment on features of the paid version.
