iPhoto comments not transferable?

Hi,

I back my photos up by having my whole iPhoto library on both my iPhone and iPad. However the comments won't transfer?

On iPhoto on my Macbook I use the 'i' tab to write comments on the photos. These comments don't transfer and back up.

Is there a way to back up the comments on my photos? These are a photo diary for me.

Have you tested this, taken a photo with a comment onto the iPad and them back off to see if the Comment travels with the file? there is meta data with photos but I don't know if Comment is one of them. GPS is.
