iPhoto 08 won't export photos in Tiger

I just installed iLife 08 onto my G5 which still has Tiger 10.4 on it. Now I cannot export my photos from iPhoto as files to my hard drive. The command is just grayed out in the drop down list. Also, the key command for it does not work either. Is there a patch I am not aware of to fix this or do I have to upgrade the OS to Leopard. (I'd rather stay on Tiger for a while as some of my other apps don't work fully with Leopard.)
