IP address problem

Hi my mac just sent me a message to say another computer on our home network is using my computer's IP address. I suspect this is a problem, how could this have happened and what can I do to change the situation? (the network includes a PC using Linux and another laptop using windows)

Yep, those systems may well just shanghai an IP number, Log your Mac out and back in again to get a new IP.
