Install Office 2011 in OS X 10.6.8, which is now running 2004

I never went from 2004 to 2008, and now want to go from 2004 to 2011. I have tens of thousands of Word document.

Though I have personally bonded with my big ol' iMac, I in fact haven't a clue. "Internal hard drive" vs "external hard drive" is about the sum of my computereeze. Sigh. I'm not actually stupid, though, just lazy.
