Insert Excel Spreadsheet into Apple Mail

I'm using OS 10.8.2 and MS Office 2011 (MAC). Is it possible to insert an Excel Spreadsheet into an Apple Email and keep the Excel layout?

When I try to do this, I lose the grid lines, and the data runs together.

No, only as an attachment.

Email is a cross-platform standard and can only do what is in that standard.
