Hey Everyone,
I think the hard drive is failing on my 21.5" iMac Mid 2010 as it cannot partition and sometimes doesn't even boot, even first aid cannot repair it. Running fsck also returns errors.
I am thinking of replacing the failing drive with a brand new SSD. I have done research on what I need to buy and do. I just feel like if my ability is adequate enough. I am 15 and I have done software related repairs and I would say I know my way around a computer. However I have never attempted anything hardware related. Would it be a good idea to attempt this install I linked? Any feedback would honestly be greatly, greatly appreciated.

Repair Tutorial:

Ultimately this SSD install and a memory upgrade, I am looking for at least 2 years of life and a fair performance boost.
Are these expectations too high? What can I expect to see?

I am planning on buying:
- WD Green SATA SSD

It seems to be an easy upgrade, don't rush it and take care when releasing cables etc. I take digital photo's of each step when I am removing or disconnecting items, just to be sure I know how it goes back together.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
