IMAC - Outlook intermittently will only download message header and not content

Recently ( 3 / 4 weeks) my iMac will not open outlook messages - it only opens header, Latest software is running, and can work for some hours then stops for a period, no set times. All messages continue to be available on my iPad . No identified network issues

Any help would be appreciated
