Icons frozen on my macbook pro

I have a new Macbook Pro 16".
15.0.1 Sequoia.
Chrome and mailbox work fine, but my on screen files and shortcuts do not respond to the mouse.
I restarted the mac but it did not solve it.
I also had an instance where nothing would respond to the mouse until I restarted it.

May be unrelated but 15.1 is the current Sequoia version not 15.0.1 which did have a few minor bugs. I suggest you update it and see if your problems persist.
